Obituary for Hilda Spencer Judd

Hilda  Spencer  Judd
Hilda Spencer Judd went to be with Jesus on September 23, 2023 at the age of 97 years, 3 months, and 15 days at the home of her son, Jerry, in Flemingsburg, KY. She was born in Chavies, KY, on June 8, 1926 to Herman Spencer and Nettie Stamper Spencer. She moved to Lee County as a young girl. She married Ottis Judd on May 5, 1946. They were married for 75 ½ years before he deceased. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Beattyville Church of the Nazarene in Beattyville, KY and remained a very active member there for life. She was the Teen Sunday School Class teacher for many years. She was a co-bookkeeper for Judd’s Garage. She was a library aide in the Lee County School System for many years and retired from that position.
She is survived by her two sons, Danny (Lois) Judd of Georgetown, KY and Jerry (Doris) Judd of Flemingsburg, KY, 4 Grandchildren, Anthony (Nicole) Judd of Heath, OH, Samuel (Ronni) Judd of Beattyville, KY, R. Mark (JenaRae) Judd of Huntington, WV, and Benjamin (Kristin) Judd of Tomball, TX. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, Allie and Alex Judd of Heath, OH, Simeon, Abigayle, Abraham, and Elizabeth Judd of Huntington, WV, and Emma and Phoebe Judd of Tomball, TX. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Judd, her parents, Herman and Nettie Spencer, three sisters, Inez Palmer Stapleton, Wanda Arnold, and Betty Armey, two brothers, Eddie Herman Spencer and Henry Potter Spencer, one half-brother, Richard Palmer and all her Spencer and Judd in laws.
Pallbearers: Anthony Judd, Sam Judd, Mark Judd, Ben Judd, Simeon Judd, Abraham Judd, and Alex Judd.
Honorary Pallbearers: Nicky Judd, Tommy Judd, Sr., Ernest Best, Jr., Michael Judd, Jared Judd, Tommy Judd, Jr., Stephen Best, Darrell Hogan, and Ronnie Hogan.
Visitation will be at Newnam Funeral Home in Beattyville, KY on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 5-7 PM. The funeral service will be at the Beattyville Church of the Nazarene in Beattyville, KY on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 2 PM with a visitation beginning at 1 PM. The burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Beattyville, KY.
