Gary Wayne  Howell
Gary Wayne Howell, husband of Tammy Spencer Howell, passed away peacefully in his home on January 9, 2024 at the age of 65 years old. He was born to Paul and Bonnie Howell on November 12, 1958. He retired from the City of Beattyville and had previously worked at the Public Square with Sam and Eddie. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, his daughter Gena (Lee) Sharp of Richmond, KY and son Dustin (Keshia) Howell of Beattyville, grandchildren Benjamin Howell, Nora Howell, Rosemary Howell, Lauren Sharp, four sisters Theresa (Danny) Caudell, Annette (Perry) Caldwell, Sandy (Dwayne) Lumpkins, Mary (Neil) Vanderpool, brothers and sisters-in-law Donna (Bill) Sade, Daniel (Sue) Spencer, Sharon (Earl) Vires, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Tucker Howell, parents Paul and Bonnie Howell, brothers Donnie, Jimmy, and John Howell, mother and father-in-law Eugene and Mary Spencer, brother-in-law Timothy Jackson.

Gary always said he was a “jack of all trades, but master of none.” Gary’s favorite role was babysitter and papaw to his four grandchildren that he loved. He enjoyed woodworking, working on vehicles, and caring for his animals. He loved the citizens of Lee County and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He was loved and respected by many. Most important of all, Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, unconditional love and generosity that will carry for generations.
